Our objectives

The overall objectives of Collaborative Newcastle in relation to Planet are to work together to become a Net Zero Carbon city, including reducing our own organisations’ greenhouse gas emissions and promoting sustainability in all we do.  We will work together to promote Newcastle and the North East as a leading the way for a Green Revolution and a Green economy.

The Universities will deliver their contribution to the People theme through initiatives that:

• Reduce our greenhouse gas emissions to achieve Net Zero.

• Maximise the impact of our research and education to support Newcastle and the North East to be a leading location for a green economy.

• Support and engage with international climate change policy.

• Utilise our research to improve the local environment and urban design, and optimise real time urban data collection and analysis.
